The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience ranging from $44.06 - $52.07 per hour.

Job Summary

This is a DOT safety-sensitive position. Any applicant transferring into this department from a non-safety-sensitive position will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Any applicant transferring into the department or filling this position from the outside will be required to provide after hours and weekend emergency coverage on a rotating basis (on-call coverage).

Key Responsibilities

Assists in laying and grading of mains and services installation of leak clamps and other

Distribution fittings.

Operates pneumatic paving breakers jackhammers tampers and other tools.

Drives truck as required.

Helps keep trucks and other equipment clean and orderly.

Upon completion of training operate backhoe and other earth moving equipment in conjunction with CNG Operations. Perform fueling oiling and greasing of earth moving equipment.

Perform other related work as required.

Perform the above in accordance with safety practices of the company.

Required Qualifications

Graduate of high school trade school or equivalent.

Able to read write and speak English effectively.

Have Connecticut MVD and must obtain a CDL-A drivers license within six (6) months of hire with a good driving record.

Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and sufficient amount of strength and ability to perform all duties of the classification.

Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Must show aptitude in the safe and proper operation of a backhoe or other earth moving equipment and willingness to learn to operate this equipment.

Must be willing and able to successfully complete company sponsored training programs in the Operator Qualification program within the two-year progression period.
