You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailJoin our team at the City of Mission as a Facilities Maintenance Worker 3 within the Parks Recreation and Culture Department. This role entails a diverse array of responsibilities crucial to the enhancement and upkeep of our recreation facilities. You will be responsible for installing and maintaining ice surfaces operating and performing minor repairs on ice-making and resurfacing equipment as well as refrigeration systems. Additional tasks include semi-skilled repairs and maintenance building and pool operations and custodial duties across various recreational areas. Seasonal variations in duties require flexibility and the ability to handle both routine and intricate tasks in coordination with your supervisor. We seek a candidate capable of maintaining building security responding to public inquiries assisting user groups and participating in staff training and new policy implementation. The role demands demonstrable skills in multiple maintenance disciplines and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications :
Required qualifications include a high school diploma (or equivalent) at least one year of relevant experience and certifications such as a Refrigeration Operators Certification and a Level I Occupational First Aid certificate. A valid Class 5 BC drivers license and Building Service Worker (BSW) Certificate are also necessary. Pool Operator Level 1 and 2 certifications would be an asset. A negative Police Information Check is also required.
Additional Information :
The 2025 hourly rate of pay is $35.84 plus a comprehensive benefits package including the Municipal Pension Plan. This position works a 4-day work week and is subject to a 6% afternoon shift premium. The schedule is Wednesday to Saturday 3:30pm - 1:00am.
