Position Summary

The University of Southern Indianas Management and Information Sciences Department housed in the Romain College of Business invites applications for a 9-month Instructor in Computer Information Systems (CIS) to begin Spring 2026.

Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will engage in dynamic teaching quality research and service. The standard teaching load for an instructor in the Romain College is four courses per semester. The teaching load may include a variety of CIS courses ranging from the introductory CIS course for all business majors to major-specific courses. In addition to teaching the successful candidate will be expected to maintain qualifications through regular professional engagement activities and engage in service to the college and beyond.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Candidates must hold a Masters degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS) Management Information Systems (MIS) or a comparable field and have professional experience in an information systems related role. Candidates with an MBA and at least five years of professional experience in information systems will also be considered. Additionally candidates must meet Romain College AACSB qualifications standards and demonstrate a commitment to effective teaching and student success.

About the College

The Romain College of Business is dual accredited by the AACSB for business and accounting and plays an important role in the economic and social development of the region. The College currently enrolls approximately 1100 undergraduate business majors across eight different programs and more than 1000 MBA students across multiple concentrations. The College also operates several state-of-the-art labs providing faculty access to high quality resources for teaching and research. These labs include the Biometrics Discovery Lab the Judith A. and Robert E. Griffin Experimental Economics Laboratory and the Textual Analytics and Publishing Lab.
The successful candidate will join the Romain College at an exciting time. About the Department

The Department of Management and Information Sciences one of three departments in the Romain College houses programs in Computer Information Systems Computer Science Management and Business Administration. The CIS programs and faculty benefit from close collaboration with faculty in Computer Science thanks to the unique arrangement of housing Computer Science in the business school. CIS faculty lead a major with two tracks (Data Analytics and Applied Technologies) two certificates (Cybersecurity and Data Analytics for Business) one post-baccalaureate certificate and two minors.
