Job Description
Are you an experienced Security Officer Then we have a great opportunity for you at Suburban Hospital located in Bethesda Maryland!
Position Summary:
The Dispatcher/Public Safety Officer II is responsible for providing advanced security services to ensure the safety of patients staff and visitors. This role involves mentoring junior officers coordinating emergency responses and implementing security protocols. The role plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure and safe environment within the healthcare facility. Ensures no one enters the hospital with any weapons or other unpermitted objects that would potentially cause a safety issue within out hospital.
Education:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Additional training or education in criminal justice public safety or a related field is preferred.
Experience/Requirements:
- Valid Drivers License with clean driving record/history with no more than 5 points and the ability to obtain and maintain any required endorsements or certifications.
- Successful completion of post-hire entry training course included but not limited to: CPR Stop the Bleed Narcan and de-escalation. Must maintain certification requirements.
- Candidates must be 21 years of age or older in order to apply and test for the Maryland Security Police Officer License.
- Effective 1/1/25: Possession of Maryland Security Guard license or must file for license with the first 2 weeks of employment. Must obtain Security Guard license within first 90 days of employment.
- Certification in healthcare security (e.g. Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) or other relevant security certifications is highly desirable.

Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Salary Range: Minimum$22.41/hour - Maximum$36.98/ will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
