In theElectrical and Instrumentation group for Separationyou will design and develop electrical instrument and control systems for the Precious Metals Recovery Filtration and Thickening Product Lines ensuring compliance with UL and International standards. The role involves managing the technical schedule and budget aspects of assigned projects providing expert analysis to uphold standards in control system design and implementation. You will also focus on electrical instrumentation and manufacturing support to drive progress on critical product lines and propose enhancements to improve product quality safety and reliability.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and review basic and detailed engineering documents for electrical control and instrumentation systems.
- Plan and coordinate technical inputs proactively to meet project schedules and deliverables with high quality.
- Apply strong knowledge of instrumentation standards across various applications.
- Contribute to technical development in design and team capabilities within the work area.
- Undertake short-term travel to sites or customer locations for supervision and technical meetings.
- Independently coordinate with customers and consultants for drawing and document approvals.
- Prepare and review instrumentation specifications to meet project and contractual requirements.
- Review and approve electrical and instrumentation vendor documents to ensure compliance with project standards.
- Strive to achieve departmental and individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Proactively collect update and monitor KPI data to ensure timeliness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement process enhancements.
- Enhance engineering efficiency through innovative contributions.
What You Bring
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent 4-year degree) in electrical electronic or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in basic and detailed engineering including preparation of deliverables such as Instrument Lists IO Lists Cable Interconnection Drawings Control System Interlocking Diagrams Cable Schedules Instrument Hook-Ups Instrument Location Plans JB Grouping PLC Architecture Drawings and Instrument Datasheets as well as review of offers electro-mechanical documents and vendor drawings for mineral processing products/projects.
- Expertise in reviewing P&ID drawings.
- Proficiency in creating Panel Layout and JB Layout drawings.
- Hands-on experience supporting the installation and commissioning of control and instrumentation (C&I) equipment in process industries.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD MS Office Eplan and other modern engineering tools.
- Strong knowledge of engineering standards (IEC NEMA CSA IS and other relevant global standards).
- Preferred familiarity with FLSmidth products/equipment and various mining/minerals equipment.
- Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive team player with a commitment to team-building activities and motivating colleagues.
