Job Title: EC&I Design Engineer Gas Industry (Permanent)
Location: Rochdale
Salary: 38000-55000per annum dependant upon experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (MonThurs: 8:3016:30 Fri: 8:3014:00)

Our client a leading player in the UK gas industry is seeking a talented EC&I Design Engineer with an electrical bias to join their growing engineering team.

What Youll Do
- Produce high-quality electrical and instrumentation designs across LV ELV and hazardous areas (ATEX/IEC 60079)
- Interpret and develop detailed drawings schematics and design documentation
- Carry out design calculations using tools such as AMTECH and Dialux
- Occasionally attend local sites for surveys and kick-off meetings
- Mentor junior EC&I engineers (for senior candidates)
- Collaborate with other engineers and contribute to HAZOPs and design reviews
What Our Client Is Looking For
Essential:
- 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification
- At least 3 years experience in electrical or EC&I design
- Experience with hazardous area design (COMPEX 812 preferred)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD EPLAN or similar software
- Strong analytical documentation and communication skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge of G17/G35 and IEC 60079 standards
- Gas sector experience
- Commissioning or inspection background
- Professional registration (IEng/CEng) or working towards it
