About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Chief Estimator who is eager to learn grow and advance within an employee-owned company. They provide comprehensive training and support to help you build a successful career in construction estimation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Engineering Construction Management or a related field from an accredited institution (or at least two years of equivalent construction experience)
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Office Suite
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments
  • Capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 lbs
  • This is a safety-sensitive position requiring pre-employment and ongoing random drug screenings

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Engineer with various project-related duties
  • Implement company and project safety plans
  • Provide technical and safety support to field teams
  • Track and report production progress
  • Communicate and coordinate with project and safety teams
  • Estimate material quantities required for construction
  • Conduct field verification of production rates and quality control
  • Ensure material deliveries comply with project specifications
  • Assist with the preparation and tracking of project submittals
  • Obtain necessary permits and coordinate utilities locating prior to project start
  • Review bids plans and project specifications

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in heavy civil and/or industrial construction
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans specifications and special provisions
  • Familiarity with Heavy Job systems is a plus
