Bgc Okanagan is hiring Early Childhood Educator Assistants for our Preschool-Little Learners program in Peachland BC. Step into a world where every day is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and their families!
Little Learners is a school-based program designed to prepare children for a successful transition into Kindergarten by supporting their early development and readiness skills. The start date for this role is September 1 2025 with some training hours in August.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in planning preparing and carrying out developmentally appropriate program and activities. Program schedules include indoor/outdoor active/quiet and individual group activities.
- Ensures activities adhere to the BGC Okanagan Policies and Childcare Licensing Regulations.
- Monitor guide and assist children in daily activities.
- Attends to childrens physical needs which may include diapering toileting eating and sleeping.
- Model developmentally appropriate activities and positive behavior management techniques. Conducts activities with children on an individual and group basis to promote the development of physical cognitive emotional and social skills.
- Keep program facilities and equipment safe and clean reporting any repairs and concerns to senior staff.
- Administers first aid and medication in accordance with established policy.
- Ensures a healthy and safe environment in which children can interact. Identifies and removes potential hazards.
- Maintains records reports problems or concerns to senior staff.
- Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents/guardians
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Assistant Certification
- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Successful completion of Agency screening process including a criminal record check
Hours: 30 hours per week Monday to Friday 8:00 am 2:00 pm
Rate of Pay: $21.22 per hour
