Job Description

Description

Tutoring for the Introduction to Music Studies class (MUTH 11100) - 2 hours per week in the fall 2025 semester.

Hours Per Week:2

Anticipated Work Schedule:

During set hours: two hours chosen from MTWR 7 8 pm

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding academic achievement as evidenced by GPA
  • Outstanding achievement in aural skills and music theory courses
  • Formal or informal experience teaching/tutoring music theory required; formal work experience tutoring fundamentals of music theory in the IC Center for Music preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work during posted hours
  • Required strong experience with music technology including facility with Canvas Microsoft 365 Audacity Spotify and MuseScore
  • Personal qualities conducive to one-on-one conferences such as a friendly approachable manner; patience; good listening abilities; and a sense of maturity and responsibility
