Johnson Controls Fire Protection LP seeks Senior Technical Trainer at its facility located at 4400 Amon Carter Blvd Fort Worth TX 76155.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Deliver training instructor readiness and quality assurance for fire detection technical training programs in Latin America. Analyze course updates oversight stakeholder management and dot-line supervision of trainers in San Jose and Costa Rica. Under the direction of the Americas Learning & Development Deployment team manager the Senior Technical Trainer defines learning objectives develop materials monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Latin America instructor(s) and all technical fire detection instructor-led courses. Coordinate with key LATAM stakeholders when updating hands-on curricula to meet the needs. Collaborate with the One Learning Global training development team as a subject matter expert (SME). Critical in the skill building and coaching of instructor(s) and maintaining a world-class level of instructor quality expected from Johnson Controls. Perform Technical Learning sessions and deliver virtual or in-person fire detection training on a 36-week rotating schedule. Build strong relationships with instructors students and department management. Observe and evaluate instructor candidates for qualification providing live performance feedback. Make scheduled and unscheduled in-person or virtual class appearances to gather instructor performance data and provide feedback to instructors for continuous improvement. Develop relationship with LATAM stakeholders for demand planning and the reporting of training effectiveness metrics. Implement and review end-of-class 90-day and manager surveys measuring; Net Promotor Score Instructor Rating Estimated Performance Improvement Benefit to Cost Ratio and Scrap Learning. Conduct periodic voice of the customer surveys and field visits. Review active courses to ensure relevance of core competencies. Liaise with the department manager reviews end-of course surveys. Work on all curricula throughout the life cycle while interfacing with team members and management to achieve program objectives. Utilize the data gathered via end-of-course evaluations to identify opportunities for course improvement. Support the development SME to identify assess and analyze business requirements and training gaps to design effective learning solutions. Devise and implement learning enhancement solutions that impact Change in skill or behavior. Telecommuting: No Telecommuting Allowed. Travel Requirements: 10% international and domestic travel required to Partner/Distributor locations.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering Technology Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related field plus Six (6) years of experience as a Technical Trainer Technical Support Analyst or related occupation in the fire/security industry. Additionally the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Curriculum Development: Designing and developing life safety training programs and materials tailored to the needs of the organization and its partners; (2) Instructional Design: instructional design models (such as ADDIE) to create effective hands-on and eLearning training experiences; (3) Needs Assessment: identifying training needs through surveys interviews and performance evaluations; (4) Managing multiple training projects timelines and resources effectively; (5) Application of NFPA Life Safety codes 72 and 101 to training curriculum; and (6) Low-voltage vocational technical trainer skills models to others.
In the alternative the employer will also accept eight (8) years of experience as a Technical Trainer Technical Support Analyst or related occupation in the fire/security industry. Additionally the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Curriculum Development: Designing and developing life safety training programs and materials tailored to the needs of the organization and its partners; (2) Instructional Design: instructional design models (such as ADDIE) to create effective hands-on and eLearning training experiences; (3) Needs Assessment: identifying training needs through surveys interviews and performance evaluations; (4) Managing multiple training projects timelines and resources effectively; (5) Application of NFPA Life Safety codes 72 and 101 to training curriculum; and (6) Low-voltage vocational technical trainer skills models to others.
