Job Description
Shipper/Receiver
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for the safe loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products. Must be committed to safe forklift operation and have to ability to work from a pick list
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to safely operate a sit down forklift while maintaining a valid forklift certification
- Must be comfortable working outside in the elements cold temperatures hot summer temperatures rainy and snowy conditions
- Communicate with truck drivers to ensure the accuracy of the load as well as safety requirements for loading/unloading materials
- Ability to think on your feet in identifying from the pick list where the material is located either in the yard or warehouse
- Identifying what needs to be double stacked in the yard versus single stacked
- Identify where product is located in the yard by utilizing the identifying signs
- Guide the truck drivers where they need to go in order to be safely loaded/unloaded
- Participate in Inventories when needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be legally authorization to work in U.S.
- Must be able to pass a forklift certification class and test
- Must be able to read a pick list and match lot numbers correctly
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary which could include weekends
- Must be able to pass a fit for duty Physical
- Must be able to lift up to 76 lbs. unassisted
