Job Title: System Administrator (Linux/Unix)

Job Location: Mumbai India

Job Description:

The Linux System Administrator is responsible for installing configuring maintaining and supporting Linux/Unix servers networks and applications. They ensure the system is secure reliable and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for Unix/Linux systems including installation configuration and maintenance.

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues ensuring optimal uptime and performance.

  • Perform routine system administration tasks such as user management file system management and backup/restore operations.

  • Assist in the implementation of system upgrades and patches following best practices and change management procedures.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues and ensure seamless integration with other systems.

  • Document system configurations procedures and troubleshooting steps to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.

  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to system emergencies in a timely manner.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in Unix/Linux systems administration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a similar field or equivalent experience.

  • 3-5 years of proven experience as a System Administrator in a similar role.

  • Strong understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems and associated technologies

  • Experience in C/C and programming in Linux environment are a must.

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Linux Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or LPIC-1 are a plus.

Work Environment:

  • This is a full-time position.

  • Candidates must work at least 4 days a week from the office.

  • Candidates should be ready to work in shifts. This team supports 24X7 on a rotating schedule.
