Position Title: APS5 Treasury/Accounts Receivable Officer
Employment Type: approx. 4 months with potential to extend
Location: Canberra
Hourly Pay Rate: $53.07 plus 12% superannuation
Security Clearance/Requirements: Baseline Clearance Required
Working Arrangements: Onsite Fulltime


ABOUT THE ROLE

A Federal Government department is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Treasury/Accounts Receivable Officer to join their Financial Operations team. This role will support the delivery of high-quality treasury and accounts receivable services including drawdowns reconciliations and debt collection activities while contributing to ongoing improvements in financial processes and systems.

Youll play a vital role in supporting compliance with Commonwealth legislation and helping the team deliver timely and accurate financial operations during a period of system enhancement and change.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage daily drawdowns via CBMS and oversee RBA account functions.

  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accurate financial records.

  • Manage invoicing debt collection and accounts receivable activities.

  • Provide technical advice on Treasury Management and Accounts Receivable matters.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial legislation and governance frameworks.

  • Support end-of-month processes including reconciliations journals and reporting.

  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and updates to policies and procedures.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders providing timely and factual advice.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 2 years experience in Accounts Receivable and Treasury functions.

  • Sound knowledge of the PGPA Act and Whole of Government financial frameworks.

  • Strong analytical problem-solving and organisational skills.

  • Experience with financial systems (e.g. CBMS TechnologyOne) and tools (e.g. Excel).

  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • A continuous improvement mindset and ability to implement changes in processes.


ELIGIBILITY

  • Must hold an active Baseline Clearance.

  • Pre-Engagement Check required prior to commencement.
