Job Description
Cardinal FG a float glass manufacturer for residential windows in Portage is looking for a Hot End Production Technician who work safely have astrong work ethic is dependable has a positive attitude and work effectively in a small team environment.
A Hot End Technician works closely with the melting process of raw materials makes adjustments to the furnace for proper melting of materials uses cameras and computers to precisely make the glass into the appropriate width and thickness and monitors the cooling process of the glass before it is scored into different sizes.
This positions primary schedule is a 12-hour rotating shift working 3 or 4 shifts/week. This schedule provides every other weekend off only working half the days of the year.

- Competitive Starting Base Wage with increases at 6-month intervals
- Rotating Day/Night Shift Average Base Wage - $23.00/hour average
- Day Shift Base Wage - $22.00/hour
- Night Shift Base Wage - $24.00/hour

Requirements:
- Good tape measure reading and basic math skills
- Ability to read write and communicate in English
- Desire to work in a team environment
- Must be 18 years of age to apply
- Able to safely lift at least 80 pounds
- Pass a pre-employment physical ability background and drug screenings
