JOB SUMMARY
Provides professional knowledge and skills related to the pharmacy department to assure that the patients of the hospital receive the ultimate quality and safety in drug therapy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Interprets and evaluates all physician medication IV admixture and TPN orders
Controls the disposition of controlled substances as required by local state and federal laws and pharmacy polices and procedures
Supervises the compounding and dispensing of medication from the pharmacy
Assists the Director with the training and orientation of new employees and the supervision of pharmacy technicians
Assists with patient charging and inventory control activities under the supervision of the Assistant Director
Assists the director with Quality Assurance and Drug Use Evaluation activities
Participates in all clinical activities in a competent and professional manner
Performs other duties related to the practice of pharmacy
Applies knowledge of age-related factors appropriately to patients utilizing appropriate policies and procedures
