Job Overview
The role of Senior Associate Ethics is to support with the review of potential ethical concerns in accordance with ASM ethics policies. This includes reviewing potential concerns identified on PubPeer Continental Messaging Solutions platform etc. This position will also be responsible for scheduling meetings for the department and ASM Ethics Committee and drafting messages/notes.
Accountabilities (are thecritical activities and resultsthe position is held accountable to produce)
Essential Functions (defines the critical end results expected of the jobholder related to the accountabilities above)
1. Monitor PubPeer and the ASM Journals Ethics email account for potential publishing ethics concerns published in ASM journals and responsible for the initial assessment of the concerns.
2. Generate process and analyze reports to identify potential wording overlap and/or similarity of manuscripts submitted to ASM Journals
3. Monitor the Continental Messaging Solutions platform for potential concerns perform the initial evaluation and report them to the director.
4. Draft and develop correspondence to be sent to the appropriate parties regarding concerns
5. Summarize and document the open ethical concerns across the organization.
6. Maintain database of ethics-related matters and their resolutions from across the organizations.
7. Provide data to the Senior Ethics Specialist and/or Director to develop annual publishing ethics reports for each of ASMs 15 journals.
8. Develop quarterly articles with the Senior Ethics Specialist for the Ethics portal and upload articles into online posting platform.
9. Provide overall support to department such as: coding of invoices draft correspondence schedule department meetings/functions and committee meetings preparations of meeting materials attend meetings and record notes and minutes as required.
10. Identify potential contact information of external stakeholders for department matters/functions.
