OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST

The Executive Office of the UNESCO Culture Sector which ensures the overall coordination of the development implementation and monitoring of the Approved Programme and Budget of the Culture Sector (CLT) is looking for an Associate Project Coordinator to support transversal voluntary contributions funded activities and initiatives and ensure their full alignment with the Programme and Budget and coordination within the Culture Sector. This will include initiatives related to culture and sustainable development sustainable cultural tourism thecoordination of the follow-up of the third edition of the UNESCO High-Level Forum for Museums as well as other transversal priority areas including in the framework of strategic initiatives led by the Assistant Director-General for Culture (ADG/CLT) and/or the Chief of the Executive Office of the Culture Sector (Chief CLT/EO).

Under the overall authority of ADG/CLT the general supervision of Chief CLT/EO and the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator of the Programme Management and Coordination Unit (CLT/EO/PMC) the incumbent will support the general coordination of the implementation and review of transversal programmes and projects while also ensuring their alignment and complementarity to UNESCOs Medium-Term Strategy (C/4) and Programme and Budget (C/5).

Long Description

The Associate Project Coordinator shall in particular:

  • Support the contribution towards the alignment of various culture projects and documents proposed by the Culture Sectors Entities to the Medium-Term Strategy (C/4) and Programme and Budget (C/5).
  • Support the coordination of the follow-up of the third edition of the UNESCO High-Level Forum for Museums.
  • Support the creation and reinforcement of cooperation and partnerships with international partners networks and key players strengthening the development and implementation of projects and initiatives. Cooperate with other UNESCO Programme Sectors partners and stakeholders.
  • Support the elaboration of internal and external communication contents including briefings to higher management talking points speeches and online content for the Culture Sector in English and French.
