Job Summary:

The On-Call chaplain is responsible for providing pastoral care to patients families and staff during the evening night holidays and weekend shifts.

Responds to requests for emergency Pastoral Care. Responds by telephone to the paging operator within 5-10 minutes. Available within 30 minutes of the initial request for a unit.

Provides chaplaincy services on request including bedside visits spiritual guidance administration of sacraments pastoral counseling to patients families and staff as needed including emergency or crisis covering all areas of the regulations require keeping up-to-date information regarding calls made and people visited. Provides by email daily reports of activities undertaken in this current regarding theology and pastoral care through related literature and educational programs (i.e. at least one workshop). Provides Spiritual support for staff as needed

Shift:Casual - Rotating shift (less than 20 hrs) on call. Weekend work required

Education and Experience Required:

• Requires a Bachelors degree in Theology or a related field
• A Masters degree from an accredited seminary (AATS) and 3 years of previous ministry experience are preferred. Also requires completing one semester of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training.

Licensure/Certifications:Board Eligible

Experience:Requires at least one year of professional pastoral ministry in a congregational or clinical setting

Knowledge/Skills:

• Requires proficiency in pastoral care generally acquired through at least two units of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent.
• Requires a high level of interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients families and employees during a crisis.
• Requires an analytical ability to evaluate pastoral care program effectiveness and assist in developing and implementing new programming.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary to exchange information
• and interact effectively with hospital staff local clergy patients and their families.

Salary Range: Minimum$24.00/hour - Maximum$24.00/ will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
