We are seeking an experienced Pre-Litigation Employment Attorney to join our team. In this role you will focus exclusively on pre-litigation case development client counseling demand drafting and settlement negotiations on behalf of employees.
Your efforts will be instrumental in upholding our firms commitment to protecting employee rights and achieving favorable outcomes for our clients through pre-litigation strategy and resolution. We focus on helping clients avoid the time stress and expense of litigation whenever possible. You will handle matters from intake through pre-litigation resolution including client counseling drafting demand letters negotiations and settlement discussions.
We are selective in the cases we choose to pursue respecting both our clients and our firms time and invest our energy where we can truly make an impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage a caseload of single-plaintiff employment matters from intake through pre-litigation resolution
Conduct detailed client interviews to assess potential claims and provide legal advice
Draft and send persuasive demand letters to employers and opposing counsel
Lead settlement negotiations and pursue favorable pre-litigation resolutions
Partner with paralegals and support staff to gather documentation and build strong cases Monitor and maintain case progress to meet deadlines and client expectations
Stay current on state and federal employment laws including FEHA and Wage & Hour Developments.
Analyze claims involving:
Wrongful termination
Discrimination
Harassment
Retaliation
Wage & hour violations and other employment law matters
QUALIFICATIONS:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
Minimum of 1 - 3 years of employment law experience with an emphasis on plaintiff-side representation
Experience with FEHA and wage and hour claims
While not required familiarity with PAGA matters is considered a valuable asset.
Familiarity with mediation arbitration and other ADR strategies
Strong analytical and legal research abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favorable settlements.
Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and effectively.
Proficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Client-focused with a commitment to exceptional service.
Detail-oriented and organized.
Team player with a collaborative mindset.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
BENEFITS & COMPENSATION:
Compensation: $120000 - $150000
Plus additional compensation on settled cases
