Cost Accountant Construction
Jacksonville FL
Full - Time/Direct hire
About:
Seeking a qualified Cost Accountant to manage job budgets for homes in inventory perform cost variance analysis and ensure accurate lot and construction costs throughout the homebuilding lifecycle.
Responsibilities:

Manage PO process: issue cancel correct POs timely.

Troubleshoot PO system integration issues.

Conduct detailed cost analysis; develop cost control tools.

Collaborate with construction divisions for cost containment and accountability.

Review closed homes costs and outstanding payments up to six months post-close.

Analyze extra PO spend and vendor transitions.
-
Support division leads with ad hoc cost and process improvement analyses.

Assist centralized accounting during month-end close with cost reconciliations.

Work with Purchasing Construction Finance and IT on reporting and system improvements.
Requirements:
-
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Construction Management or related field or equivalent experience.

1-3 years cost accounting experience preferably in construction/homebuilding.

Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Detail-oriented team-focused results-driven.
-
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; Oracle ERP experience preferred.
