Primary Role:
The Lunch Coordinator is responsible for overseeing lunch program operations and supporting clinical aide functions across TMSA campuses. This role ensures compliance with nutrition and health protocols while assisting campus-level staff with scheduling procedures and coordination. The Coordinator acts as the liaison between school aides and the central office to ensure consistent service delivery and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required; preferred fields include Public Health Nutrition Education or related areas.
- At least 2 years of experience in food service coordination school operations or health services support.
- Familiarity with child nutrition and basic clinical support practices.
- Strong organizational communication and time management skills.
- Ability to travel between campuses as needed
Key Responsibilities:
Lunch Program Coordination
- Oversee daily lunch operations at all assigned campuses to ensure smooth compliant and timely food service
- Ensure compliance with USDA DPI and child nutrition program regulations.
- Monitor food safety practices and report concerns to the AP of Operations.
- Coordinate with vendors or food service staff to ensure timely meal delivery and setup.
- Ensure each school site adheres to applicable North Carolina sanitation and meal pattern requirements.
- Verify that all required documentation (meal counts production records delivery logs) is accurate timely and audit-ready.
- Collaborate with finance and compliance teams to ensure that vendor billing aligns with actual meal service and participation data.
- Work closely with campus administrators to encourage participation and promote nutrition education initiatives.
Clinical Aide Oversight
- Support the onboarding scheduling and training of clinical aides.
- Ensure aides maintain accurate records of student health visits and incident reports.
- Provide guidance on basic health room procedures and emergency protocols.
- Ensure each campus has adequate health supplies and maintains a safe care environment.
- Collaborate with school clinical aides and administrative staff to ensure coordination between clinical aides and official health services.
- Support compliance with FERPA and HIPAA as they relate to student health data and confidentiality.
Administrative and Compliance Duties
- Maintain records related to lunch counts staffing and health documentation.
- Assist with internal audits and inspections for lunch and health services.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for lunch and clinical aide-related concerns.
- Prepare and submit monthly reports required by DPI and USDA as applicable (e.g. Site Monitoring Reviews Verification Summaries).
- Ensure civil rights training and other mandatory training are completed annually by lunch and clinical support staff.
- Coordinate corrective actions if deficiencies are found during monitoring or audit processes.
- Perform other related administrative duties as assigned that support the goals and operations of the lunch program and overall student wellness across the district.
