What Youll Do:

As the Staff Accountant you will plan manage and perform day-to-day accounting activities including managing transactions accounts payable and receivable and inventory accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and support the organization in achieving its financial goals. You will also collaborate closely with the Corporate Controller Customer Service and Purchasing teams to maintain compliance with accounting standards improve financial processes and provide timely data to support decision-making.


Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  • Prepares journal entries reconciles accounts and assists with month-end and year-end closings to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Assists in preparing financial statements compiling management reports and performing variance analysis to provide actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Processes invoices reconciles vendor statements manages payment approvals and ensures timely collection of receivables to maintain cash flow.
  • Reconciles inventory discrepancies validates pricing and landed costs and coordinates with the Purchasing team to ensure accurate inventory reporting.
  • Supports compliance with tax regulations by maintaining tax exemption certificates and tracking use tax through Avalara tax software.
  • Prepares and reconciles bank statements monitors cash flows and ensures proper accounting of transactions for accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights supports business initiatives and recommends process improvements for greater efficiency.
  • Provides documentation and support for internal and external audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and reduce audit risks.
  • Maintains and updates financial records within the ERP system to ensure data integrity and accuracy in all financial transactions.
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities for process improvements within the Accounting department collaborating with the Controller to promote continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Associates Degree in Accounting Finance or related field ; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Experience: At least 2-4 years of Accounting experience preferably within a distribution or manufacturing environment. Knowledge of inventory accounting principles preferred.
  • Certifications: N/A
  • Functional Skills: Strong ability to plan prioritize and manage daily accounting tasks efficiently while ensur-ing accuracy in financial reporting highly process-oriented with attentive to detail strong analytical skills to review large amounts of data identify discrepancies and assist in variance analysis; strong problem-solving capabilities to support project management and process improvements strong math and business acumen with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; strong understanding of GAAP organized and self-motivated in a fast-paced environment and effective communication skills to collaborate on budgeting and department initiatives.
  • Technology Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly in Excel and ERP experience .
  • Language Skills: Solid verbal and written communication skills; proactive approach with ability to communicate professionally politely and intelligently with customers and others.
  • Leadership/ Behaviors: Customer-service oriented supporting both the team and customers compliant and data-focused with the ability to work efficiently both independently and in teams in a fast-paced environment dependable in handling confidential matters with integrity strong work ethic and highly motivated to manage accounting tasks and projects to meet goals collaborative with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business decisions proactive and self-motivated adaptable to change while ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and committed to continuous improvement through research analysis and recommending process enhancements to optimize operations and support the annual budgeting process.

Other Important Information:

Pay/Salary: Pay is commensurate with proven expertise (And the compensation will grow as the team member grows!)

Reports To: Controller

Core Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00pm (exact hours may vary)

Typical Work Week: Monday-Friday; (some weekends & OT may be to meet business demands)

Direct Reports: None

Travel: Limited; 5% or less

Work Conditions: Office Environment
