Job Description
Summary/objective
Works as a member of the Counseling Center team to meet the mental health and substance use needs of the Randolph College student community. Active coordination of care with other offices and departments when clinically indicated.
Essential functions

- Provides individual group family and couples counseling to full-time Randolph College students
- Completes adequate and timely clinical documentation utilizing the electronic health record Titanium
- Provides mental health crisis intervention services to Randolph College students when needed
- Provides mental health assessment and referral services (both internal to Randolph College and external to the community) for Randolph College students
- Provides coverage for rotation of emergency on-call phone support system (overnight and weekend)
- Provides psychoeducational programming outreach and/or training to students faculty and/or staff
- Provides services within the National Association of Social Workers American Counseling Association or American Psychological Association ethical guidelines
- Seeks individual professional consultation and/or supervision as necessary
- Shares in administrative tasks of the Counseling Center
- Provides clinical coverage during campus events when counselor presence is required

- Ability to provide individualized treatment to students engaged in counseling services
- Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the clinical team and Randolph College community
- Ability to work autonomously while seeking supervision when clinically indicated
- Demonstrates professionalism strong work ethic and flexibility
- Demonstrates thorough and adequate clinical record-keeping in a timely and efficient manner
- Knowledge of local clinical support resources and ability to coordinate quickly and efficiently during a mental health crisis
Supervisory responsibilities
- At times licensed staff may provide licensed coverage for the Counseling Center when the Director of Counseling Center is not available. Clinical staff can also provide support to Graduate Student Interns.

- Person typically works in an office environment

- Person may occasionally lift up to 15 pounds or may walk and/or bend in the performance of the job functions

Required education and experience

- Licensed Counselor:
- Applicant must have one of the following licenses in the Commonwealth of Virginia:
- Licensed Professional Counselor
- Licensed Clinical Psychologist
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker
- License Eligible Counselor:
- Minimum of Masters degree in a related discipline
- Formal approval of registered supervision with the appropriate licensing board
- The candidate will be dedicated to the support of student development and to working in a collegial fashion with other counselors as well as other staff and faculty throughout the college campus
Preferred education and experience
Indicate requirements that are job-related and consistent with business necessity
- Successful candidate will have documented experience providing counseling services to late adolescent and/or college age women and men across a broad range of presenting issues within mental health and substance use diagnoses
