Job Description
The Building Center Inc.
Title:Catcher
Reports to:Production Manager
FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
Department: Warehouse/Yard
Division: Mebane NC
Summary:
Receives and stacks lumber truss components from the saw.
Job Duties:
Efficiently stacks lumber truss components from the saw
Organizes lumber truss components by job number truss type and batch letter on lumber carts
Verifies accuracy of truss component lengths and communicates variances greater than 1/16 to the Sawyer
Maintains a clean work area free from excess amounts of sawdust
Complies with Companys attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance
Adheres to OSHA requirements and company policies/procedures to ensure safety at all times
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
Strong work ethic
Ability to work quickly and methodically
Basic math skills
Good hand dexterity
Dependability
Reliable mode of transportation
Ability to read a tape measure
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma/GED preferred.
Work Environment:
While performing this jobs duties the employee is regularly required to stand use hands reach with hands and arms and bend over. The employee is occasionally required to sit climb balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 80 pounds.
While performing this jobs duties the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather). The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Accordingly The Building Center maintains a fleet of over 300 trucks to service the Carolinas with locations in Georgetown SC Columbia SC Holly Hill SC Easley SC Rock Hill SC Pineville NC Gastonia NC Boone NC Greensboro NC Mebane NC Monroe NC and Ocean Isle Beach NC.
The Building Center leverages its sizable regional presence to purchase and sell branded and commodity products at competitive market prices. Inventories are maintained and managed to meet the needs of individual markets regional building practices and metro architectural trends.
