Job Description

POSITION #224-CRT-06-25:

Dean of Students - TOSA

Washington Elementary

1.0 FTE Continuing Contract

The Dean of Students will be responsible to support social-emotional learning PBIS and student success using a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). In addition this position will be in charge of developing and implementing student intervention plans. Must be able to identify and strengthen related supports to improve student achievement using data and enhancing parent and family engagement. The Dean of Students will work within policies of the district and the guidelines of the Superintendent and will support the building administration in the management of school operations. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each of the primary duties. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. Primary Responsibilities: Represents and promotes the districts mission and values (Excellence in Learning Equity Accountability). Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school facility which allows the school principal to be the instructional leader. Supports student behavioral growth and social-emotional development. Coordinates a school-based system of Integrated Student Supports . Communicates all necessary information to the appropriate school and district personnel. Creates and maintains a safe inclusive school climate. Assists in the setting of expectations to effectively deliver results for academic achievement student safety employee and student performance. Follows and adheres to all WSD Policies and Procedures. Fosters strong collaborative relationships with school/district staff students parents and community. Work collaboratively on multiple teams. May require supervision of students as needed throughout the school day. Willingness to be very accessible to students parents and staff. Ability to conduct social skills training for better relationships coping with stress and refusal skills. Ability to work with and identify at-risk students and be effective in working with students of varying socio-economic cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Follows and adheres to all WSD Policies and Procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:: Must be in registering (must be registered by September 1 2025) or recently completed a valid Washington State principals certification program and must have a valid Washington state teaching certificate. Minimum five (5) years successful teaching experience (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. In-depth knowledge of student discipline procedures. Ability to work as a team player. Strong communication with PBIS implementation behavioral interventions and social emotional support. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and and punctuality are important functions of this position.

SCHEDULE: OPEN UNTIL FILLED.
