Duties: - Plan organize and lead programs for Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing residents.
- Create monthly activities calendars post calendars as directed and distribute to all residents.
- Supervise and direct volunteers as directed.
- Purchase supplies when necessary.
- Attend monthly Resident Council meetings.
- Record program attendance.
- Perform resident assessments for MDS section F upon move-in quarterly and annually; enter into medical records system.
- Document quarterly progress notes on resident preferences and participation in medical records system.
- Clean and maintain storage areas.
- Utilize basic tech functions in resident programs.
- Assist in managing and supervising supplies for programs and spaces maintain and reset rooms.
- Prepare and submit reports as directed on a timely basis.
- Update and distribute various documents and communications internally.
- File copy and perform other general office duties.
- Assist in tasks relating to event planning and booking of calendar.
- Effectively communicate with residents family members volunteers and staff members.
- Assist in conflict resolution among residents family members volunteers and staff members.
- Coordinate seasonal decoration of common areas on healthcare floors.
- Assist in proofreading weekly and monthly newsletters.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Resident Services.
Qualifications: - Combination of post-secondary education and specific work experience.
- Preference given to applicants with a Bachelors degree in Recreation Therapy Healthcare Administration or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in activity planning in a healthcare setting.
- Read write fluently speak and understand the English language.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to make thoughtful and measured independent business decisions as necessary.
- A strong working knowledge of computers and appropriate software applications.
- Ability to work a flexible scheduleto cover occasional weekend and evening activities.
- Program and event planning.
Physical requirements:
- Capable of standing continuously for 1 hour minimum.
- Capable of climbing/standing on stepstools and/or ladders to assist in seasonal decoration of the campus.
- Complete required training and utilize life support and CPR procedures as needed.
