Job Description

Job Title:Stacker
Reports to:Production Manager
FLSA Status:Hourly Non-Exempt
Division:Mebane NC
Summary:
Responsible for the movement and preparation for shipment of finished trusses according to the job order. Handles quality control making sure all joints are plated properly and no visual defects are found according to the Truss Plate Institute.
Job Duties:
- Handles the trusses that have been built and are leaving the final press
- Operates forklift including over size moving material from one location to another within the plant facility as directed and in a timely manner efficiently and safely.
- Bands trusses to prevent damage and undue stress on material
- Marks individual trusses when required
- Looks for quality issues with the trusses such as missing plates and broken webs; contacts the Production Manager with any issues that need to be addressed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to read and understand set-up sheets
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand for long periods of time walk sit climb balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl. Reach with hands and arms talk and hear. The employee is required to regularly lift 70 and move up to 200 pounds. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. Employee will be working with fumes or airborne particles; outdoor weather conditions; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
