Overview
Shift: Days; As needed PRN
Utilizes effective coaching techniques to assist clients in achieving maximum state of health. As a member of the interdisciplinary team assists with individual or group education and exercise. Works alongside other team members to develop appropriate plans of care.

Responsibilities
- Utilizes scientific principles to develop exercise prescriptions. Monitors clients response to exercise and adjusts treatment plan accordingly.
- Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patients care.
- Utilizes holistic approach (considering biopsychosocial spiritual educational safety and related criteria) appropriate to the individuals served.
- Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations.
- Effective at directing/supervising group education/exercise classes; consistently delivers high-quality care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Assess and chooses teaching strategies appropriate to the patients and their families specific needs culture gender readiness to learn and level of comprehension.
- Consults appropriate resources within the hospital to provide specialized education.
- Demonstrates knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.
Qualifications
- Degree in exercise science or related field
- Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehab Experience
- Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three months from date of hire.
Writes reads comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Microsoft Office basic computer skills. Customer/patient focused. Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
Work may require occasional travel to other UPH-DM facilities.
