Primary Function:
Technician1 will be responsible for learning the operational aspects of Foster Lake & Pond Management. Tech 1 will become familiar with company policies operations and software platforms. They will strive to uphold the Core Values and Vision of Foster Lake & Pond Management (FLPM) and show a willingness to learn.
Skills & Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of a high school degree or GED. An associate degree or related experience in landscaping environmental management water resources fisheries science or stormwater device maintenance is preferred.
Helpful knowledge and experience include:
o Aquatic Vegetation Management
o Freshwater Fishery Management
o Turf Establishment and Maintenance.
o Trash and Debris Removal.
o Boat Operation & Trailering.
o Electric Motor Installations
o Heavy Equipment Operation
Ability to learn and comprehend the function of stormwater devices and the maintenance expected in Operations & Maintenance Manuals.
Familiarity with computers and general business software is desirable.
Will encounter job sites on both residential and commercial property. The employee may also be exposed to the homeowners pets.
Capable of traveling and occasional overnight trips may be required.
Have the basic ability to operate and maintain hand tools small equipment and pumps or be willing to learn.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Have a positive attitude professional behavior and willingness to do whatever is necessary to complete the job.
Ability to withstand strenuous physical activities.
Regularly lift or move up to 80 pounds.
Comfortable working in and around water and mud.
Willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environmental hazards.
Have a valid drivers license.
Allow FLPM to pull their motor vehicle record (MVR) from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DVM). To be hired a person must have an acceptable record.

5. Learn and become proficient in basic equipment maintenance and be able to perform all tasks on the proficiency check list by the end of year one.
6. Learn and become proficient in facility maintenance and be able to perform all tasks on the proficiency check list by the end of year one.
1. Use the time app daily and clock into jobs consistently and correctly.
2. Check and respond to Outlook emails daily on working days.
3. Become familiar with our vehicle maintenance system and know how to complete an inspection by the end of your first 6 months.
4. Learn how to use our human resource software effectively within the first 3 months.
5. Check the company calendar daily on workdays and update when necessary.
1. Attend and pass Stormwater Control Measure (SCM) Inspection and Maintenance Professional certification within the first year of employment.
2. Pass NC aquatic pesticide applicators exam within the first year of employment.
3. Attend at least 1 company led training annually.
1. Communicate effectively with customers supervisor and other FLPM employees always.
2. Provide at least 2 pieces of feedback in our company feedback/review software monthly.
3. Respond to company emails within 2 business days.
4. Respond to company texts and phone calls during working hours.
5. Complete self-check ins and other requested human resource items by stated deadline.
