RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish/maintain a solid working relationship with contract growers and independent grow partners to successfully negotiate and renew competitive procurement contracts needed to meet plan.
- Oversee regular cadence of grower advisory board meetings and review production results/ranking system with contract and independent growers.
- Establish/maintain regular communication with internal growout management team in relation to support of contract/independent grower oversight.
- Partners with growout team to develop long-range strategic model to attain company objectives with respect to bird age/weight for pounds processed and meat needs.
- Partners with growout team to plan long-term growing space needs to match volume needs and maintaining space modernization.
- Ensures that grow partners adhere to animal handling and animal welfare standards endorsed and expected by Jennie-O Turkey Store.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- 5 years of live production and/or turkey growing related experience.
- Experience working with contract negotiations.
- Strong problem-solving decision making and project management skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a Citizen or National of the United States a lawful permanent resident or have authorization to work in the United States.
- Applicants must not now or in the future require sponsorship for an employment visa.
Preferred
- A bachelors degree or significant industry experience
TRAVEL: Up to 40% weekly travel

At Jennie-O/Hormel Foods base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $111400-$156000 per year and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge skill set level of experience and geographic market location.
