Job Description

Job Function: Primary NCAA liaison to the assigned NCAA Corporate Champions and Corporate Partners (CC/Ps) responsible for the daily management and coordination of all activities of designated CC/Ps.

Job Responsibilities

  • Creation development approval and implementation of assigned CC/Ps annual objectives strategies initiatives and tactics for leveraging NCAA partnership. Communicate NCAA objectives strategies and tactics to CC/Ps to ensure synergy and compatibility.
  • Manage the CC/P approval process for assigned CC/Ps which may be inclusive of a Corporate Champion level account and/or multiple Corporate Partner level accounts including feasibility of promotional concepts appropriate use of NCAA name and registered trademarks use of NCAA Championship tickets and hospitality and approval of CC/P promotional materials. Monitor appropriate CC/P involvement with other NCAA and NCAA/TNT/CBS bundled rights partners (e.g. Turner Sports CBS Sports Collegiate Licensing Company Event 1 etc.). Provide CC/P submissions to appropriate NCAA departments and staff members (e.g. Championships Membership Services etc.) for feedback interpretations and approval when necessary. Confirm that the contractual approval process timeline is adhered to. Provide NCAA feedback and approval to CC/Ps.
  • Assist assigned CC/Ps and any related (when applicable) pass-through entities in understanding the uniqueness and needs of all NCAA Championships NCAA events host institutions and LOCs. Develop and present beneficial and relevant championship and event activation opportunities and ideas for assigned CC/Ps for consideration.
  • Work closely with appropriate NCAA staff and broadcast partners TNT CBS and ESPN to monitor compliance with CC/P contractual rights and benefits.
  • Facilitate regular in-person meetings at the NCAA National Office CC/P offices and broadcast partners offices to ensure all parties are working together to create and implement programming that meets the objectives of the CC/Ps and is mutually beneficial to all parties while enhancing the NCAA mission brand and championships.
  • Work closely with NCAA departments and staff (e.g. Championships Championships Marketing Membership Services Legal etc.) to educate them about CC/P objectives and programs.
  • Establish positive working relationships with CC/P key marketing and promotions contacts nationally regionally and locally to facilitate communications. Focus on understanding and meeting the collective and mutual objectives of CC/Ps and related entities (i.e. local marketing groups suppliers CC/P internal groups and subsidiaries etc.) NCAA Championships and LOCs.
  • Represent the Corporate Relations group by assisting in planning assigned NCAA Championship events as it pertains to NCAA Corporate Champions and Partners. Responsibilities include personal attendance (as necessary) at assigned championships site visits and competition dates to maximize opportunities for CC/P activation opportunities/involvement and perform necessary on-site duties related to activation hospitality ambush marketing enforcement and championship operations.
  • Manage all corporate partner activations at generally at least one NCAA championship per season inclusive of both the Mens Final Four and Womens Final Four. Coordinate with championships staff host venues and corporate partners to deliver onsite activations on behalf of all CC/Ps. While onsite serve as the primary point of contact for all CC/Ps and working staff for any CC/P related items.
  • Work with entities responsible for executing ancillary events on behalf of the NCAA to ensure CC/Ps have been offered relevant opportunities for involvement and presence at these events (e.g. Final Four Fan Fest March Madness Music Fest Tourney Town Championship Opening Ceremonies etc.).
  • Serve as the CC/P liaison and event manager for co-partnered events for the Mens and Womens Final Four (e.g. Final Four Legacy Project Final Four Open Practices etc.). Lead regular planning calls with the respective CC/P NCAA staff and local representatives. While onsite serve as the event lead and ensure event deliverables are executed.
  • Collaborate with TNT Sports/CBS and respective championships to build out new NCAA official events to present to CC/Ps. Build out event overview deliverables and opt-in pricing for any prospective CC/P in an effort to secure event sponsorships.
  • Collaborate with TNT Sports/CBS to update event deliverables and pricing around NCAA owned and managed assets (e.g. turnkey opportunities at fan events activation footprints NCAA events). Update pricing and list of assets on an annual basis with TNT/CBS and championships months ahead of each respective championship.
  • Participate in Corporate Relations strategy sessions; contribute meaningful content and ideas to better position the NCAA and/or add to CC/P value proposition and support the Corporate Relations and Championships leadership as requested.
  • Collaborate with internal and external entities to lead and support event management of annual CCP meetings and presentations such as MFF FAM WFF FAM Virtual FAM and Championship Summit (inclusive of strategy content logistics registration transportation F&B programming meeting scheduling etc.)
  • Assist and provide guidance with CC/P NIL initiatives.
  • Assist the leadership of Corporate Relations on assignments as requested including but not limited to meetings presentations and any additional CC/P umbrella program initiatives.
  • May be responsible for supervising additional position(s) within the Corporate Relations staff and/or a Post-Graduate Intern. Conduct daily and weekly meetings to maintain awareness of priorities and initiatives.
  • Manage and monitor performance of assigned staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Two to four years of experience in marketing or client relationship development and with a Fortune 500 company sports or cultural property/attraction agency or an NCAA member institution.
  • Four to eight years of experience preferred.
  • Estimated Travel Required: <30%
  • This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis Indiana. Current work environment is hybrid; 3 days in the office and 2 days are remote.
