Kemper is seeking a Subrogation PD Team Manager within our Dallas TX office! In this role you will manage the Property Damage (PD) Team on handling incoming Subrogation claims for payments and property damage limit issues through the use of skilled and highly motivated claims personnel. Basic functions include: hiring of staff adjusters direct supervision of these adjusters assisting and mentoring in on-going property damage training with development of staff to promote to other areas of the business.

Additionally the PD Team Manager will monitor performance of teams compared to objectives reviewing authority requests in excess of the adjusters authority review adherence to processes completion of Department of Insurance complaint responses answer customer calls requesting assistance beyond the adjusters authority and setting and maintaining best practices expectations of all staff through strong proactive leadership.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conducts interviewing selection and training of personnel for the office or Unit. Completes performance objectives performance reviews salary changes and disciplinary actions on a timely basis as per Company policy.
  • Reviews all incoming losses for assignment to appropriate personnel for contact with all parties within guidelines of Best Practices.
  • Ensures that all Corporate directives and procedures are followed within the unit.
  • Ensures the timely investigation and handling of claims to ensure proper coverage determination timely settlement offers or rejections according to State Statutes and Company policy.
  • Reviews all incoming lawsuits and other legal documents to ensure proper handling.
  • Conducts mini-audits on a timely basis to ensure compliance with Company guidelines and State laws in all phases of claims handling.
  • Evaluates performance and training/development needs of personnel by review of audit results management reports and observation of day to day work habits. Takes necessary steps to meet determined needs for development and promotion through education counseling and other means.

Position Qualifications:

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred. Experience may be substituted for internal candidates who have demonstrated above average leadership initiative customer service and claims handling skills.
  • A minimum of 2 years of claims handling experience required with demonstrated proficiency in all areas.
  • Ability to handle/review claims via on-line claims systems.
  • Must apply for and possess on a timely basis all applicable licenses required by the State(s) to which the individual is assigned and achieve/maintain state required continuing education.
  • Decisions are made of a monetary nature which can be up to policy limits and beyond and which if mishandled can cause unlimited exposure for the Company.
  • Travel can be required with short notice.
  • Overtime required to meet deadlines and Branch needs.
  • Must be able to effectively deal with situations involving verbally abusive callers.

The range for this position is $77100-128500. When determining candidate offers we consider experience skills education certifications and geographic location among other factors. This job is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and Kemper benefits (Medical Dental Vision PTO 401k etc.)
