Responsibilities
The Senior Software Developer/Engineer will contribute to driving the digital transformation and the improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of Vital Records systems in support of the Public Health Infrastructure grant. The incumbent will be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of strategies for migrating legacy workflows and applications to cloud platforms. The incumbent will implement and maintain/oversee a comprehensive monitoring system to track the performance and health of cloud resources. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying and developing software solutions to align with the programs goals and objectives. The incumbent will be responsible for recommending developing and/or implementing a comprehensive cloud migration strategy. The incumbent will design and implement cloud-native architecture that align with program requirements and best practices. The incumbent will help to make technology decisions impacting the overall modernization strategy and build out new capabilities. The incumbent will have accountability and oversight in driving solutions from idea to implementation by providing oversight to other solution engineers.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelors degree in Software Engineering Computer Science or Information Technology and four years computer programming database design/development or systems analysis experience; OR an Associates degree in Software Engineering Computer Science or Information Technology and six years of such experience; OR eight years of such experience. A Masters degree in Software Engineering Computer Science or Information Technology may substitute for one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
At least three years of experience with a cloud-based data warehousing platform. Experience with ETL development and developing applications that interact with cloud-based APIs to access and manage data. At least three years of experience with scripting languages such as Python JavaScript Groovy Ruby or Perl. At least three years of experience with SQL.
Conditions of Employment
Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting grant deliverables and contract deliverables is required.
Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Travel up to 10% of the time will be required.
Telecommuting will be available on a limited basis. The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York New Jersey Connecticut Vermont or Massachusetts prior to hire.
