Pr0Test Engineer

QTEC Aerospace is seeking a TEST ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program engineering and technical support to Missile Defense programs. This position requires a test engineer to conduct designing testing analyzing benchmarking validation and verification documenting and integrating of simulation products.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:

• Testing new capabilities documenting new features and analyzing simulation performance
• Working with the product and development teams as well as external users and customers to determine acceptance criteria for new feature
• Supporting analysis of benchmarking anchoring and Verification and Validation activities
• Supporting the modeling and simulation of missile defense systems
• Supporting agile software team within the context of a larger team
• Supporting the development of simulation and software architectures
• Interfacing with customers and presenting technical briefings to stakeholders
• Researching technical details related to various missile defense systems to better support model creation and enhancement

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience or a Masters Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Familiarity with Agile software development practices
• Understanding of software development and MS Windows platforms
• Experience in developing tools in MATLAB and/or similar analysis software.
• Experience in agile software development methodologies including Scrum Kanban and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations significantly diverse assignments collaborative/team settings across all levels.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
• Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Desired Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Experience with both C and Java source code
• Knowledge/experience in SQL queries
• Experience in engineering M&S systems using an optimistic and/or conservative discrete event simulation platform
• Knowledge or experience in several of the following: missile defense domain knowledge command and control and modeling and simulation development
• Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA confluence and GIT

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.

Salary Range

The below salary range represents a general guideline; however QTEC considers a number of factors when determining base salary such as the scope and responsibilities of the position as well as the candidates experience education skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Salary Range: $120000 $166000
