Division of Facilities Management - Southern District:

The Division of Facilities Management exists to plan design construct operate maintain and manage the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) facilities and campuses according to all applicable standards in a manner that promotes the CDHS mission of providing a safe sanitary and effective environment for clients youth residents consumers and staff and enhances the quality of life in CDHS facilities and campuses.

Description of Job



Duties:
  • Performs daily cleaning sanitizing and servicing of assigned work areas as per schedules and procedures by use of appropriate disinfectant cleaners chemicals and equipment consisting of sweeping dust mopping wet mopping vacuuming restroom cleaning and other duties as assigned.
  • The position requires the driving of State vehicles from agency to agency for which we provide services to.
  • Performs daily detail cleaning of assigned area as per schedules and procedures by use of appropriate disinfectant cleaners chemicals and equipment consisting of washing walls doors frames sills windows baseboards fixtures furnishings ceilings vents and light fixtures.
  • Performs weekly project work within all areas including all hard floor and carpet areas.
  • Performs project floor work consisting of buffing scrubbing stripping waxing and sealing of hard floor surfaces and spot cleaning shampooing and extracting of carpeted floors by use of appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Collects and disposes of trash and biohazard waste by properly containing and transporting to proper disposal locations.
  • The removal of desks chairs etc. to conduct project floor work in all areas on a weekly basis.
  • Participates in moving of furniture appliances equipment supplies etc. manually and by use of moving equipment.
  • May need to assist in snow removal when needed.
  • Cleans and services equipment maintains janitorial closet supplies stock levels and chemical labeling requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Shift /Job Information:
This is a full-time in-person essential position. Shift work may be required. Must be available for and respond to call backs to perform essential and/or emergency services of the agency in a timely manner.

Essential Positions. Positions that perform essential law enforcement highway maintenance and other support services directly necessary for the health safety and welfare of patients residents and inmates of state institutions or state facilities. Employees in essential positions can be only FLSA non exempt and can be required to work unexpected or unusual work hours to perform the essential and/or emergency services of the department without delay and/or without interruption.

Call Back applies when an eligible employee is required to report to work before the start or after the end of a scheduled shift.
