As a Civil Design Engineer in our Gold Coast team your focus will be on delivering comprehensive design and documentation for the civil design of freeways rural urban and local roads in relation to the broader urban development and active transport strategy. With a strong portfolio of projects in hand as well as a significant project pipeline we are looking for the missing piece to complete our team and culture.
You will be responsible for
- Delivery and coordination of projects and proposals with the potential for both office and site-based works.
- Delivery of associated technical design work directly related to the active modes of transport traffic engineering and civil infrastructure (roads).
- Design of major and minor drainage infrastructure with an understanding of hydrological principles with appropriate water management and treatments
- Project management across full-cycle of small-to-medium projects supporting large projects as part of project team.
- Undertaking preliminary and final designs as well as prepare concept drawings while also engaging in design and drawing reviews
- Supporting the well-being development and resourcing of team members.
- Participating in client management and business development.
- Playing an active role in the business groups through regular meetings workshops training and business planning.
Qualifications :
Ideally you will have 5 years experience within a similar consultancy environment undertaking civil design of freeways rural urban and local roads within a consultancy environment. In addition to this you will also have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) or demonstrated relevant work experience in Civil Design
- Demonstrated knowledge of working with local authorities and local council.
- Proficient in 12D and AutoCad
- Good knowledge and application of Austroads TMR and Local Government standards
- Experience in the planning development design and management of civil and multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects including road rehabilitation major corridor intersection upgrades and active travel upgrades earthworks pipe and open channel drainage DDA compliance and general civil works
- Knowledge and application of stormwater engineering hydrological theory Australian rainfall and runoff and water hydraulics
- Experience in developing design documentation including design reports technical specifications drawings BOQs and cost estimates
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
