Job Description

In the position of Occupational Therapist you will support injured or ill workers in regaining functional capacity and independence with their ADLs within the home and community. You will collaborate with clients employers medical professionals and insurers to deliver evidence-based goal oriented interventions.

We are flexible in being able to offer casual hours based on your availability up to FT casual work.

Every day is different but each day you will have the opportunity to assist people to return to wellness work and ultimately experience an improved quality of life. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct comprehensive ADL assessments to evaluate an individuals functional abilities and support needs within the home and/or community to promote their independence.
  • Liaise with employers case managers medical professionals and insurers to provide clinical updates and ensure alignment of rehabilitation goals.
  • Make recommendations for equipment home modifications or support services based on assessment findings.
  • Identify suitable equipment and service providers including attendance to equipment trials where indicated.
  •  Prepare timely high-quality reports outlining findings recommendations and clinical reasoning.
  • Educate clients and families on adaptive strategies energy conservation and safe task performance. 
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and adhere to professional legal and ethical standards of practice. 
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement participate in team meetings and maintain professional development.

Qualifications :

Youll be a driven and energetic professional with hopefully all of the qualities below!

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy 
  • Full Professional Registration with AHPRA
  • Previous experience working in Occupational Rehabilitation industry would be highly regarded;
  • Fabulous communication skills - there is a lot of getting to know your clients and stakeholders!;
  • Compassion and kindness always go a long way as does empathy;
  • Its the kind of career where well developed time management skills are a must & plus!;
  • A current Drivers License and access to own car with comprehensive insurance is a must.
