We are seeking an experienced asset management lawyer to join as a permanent member of the Legal team within M&G providing legal advice and sound commercial risk assessments on legal issues with a focus on advising our Life Investment Office.
Key Responsibilities
The role encompasses a broad range of legal skills covering legal advisory transaction structuring and execution drafting and negotiating transaction documentation regulatory work and supporting the companys strategic projects.
Job & Personal Skills:
This role will cover legal advisory structuring product building transaction execution and supporting key corporate and regulatory change projects.
Key competencies:
A deep understanding of the asset/portfolio management sector with a focus on buy-side and institutional experience. Ideally you will have a strong understanding of alternatives and private assets. Experience of private debt / credit would be helpful but not essential.
Proven capability in managing external/opposing counsel interactions and capable of building and developing relationships with key internal stakeholders.
Capable of acting as business partner to the relevant business teams.

A willingness to challenge/debate and offer own views

Strong organisational skills
Flexible with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and fluid deadlines.
Qualifications
Qualified lawyer (there is no requirement that the candidate must be English qualified)
Knowledge & Experience
Qualified lawyer with 4 years PQE with experience in private practice or in-house in the asset management space.
Strong academic credentials
