Teacher: JH/SH Art and JH Science

Probationary: August 25 2025 - June 25 2026

Location Westwood Community High School

FTE 1.0

Start Date August 25 2025

Westwood High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our instructional team in the role of Junior/ Senior Art and Junior High Science Teacher

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Education
  • Alberta Teaching Certificate or is eligible to obtain certification in Alberta
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
  • Experience teaching in a junior/senior high school setting with knowledge of Junior/Senior High Art and Junior High Science Programs of Study
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Assessment for Learning Literacy and Differentiated Instruction practices.
  • Effective organizational and classroom management skills are imperative.
  • Ability to integrate and use technology in a regular and virtual classroom.
  • Ability to create goals for Individual Program Plans as well as implement the plan for students.
  • A strong ability to build relationships with students staff and parents.
  • Strong technology skills are required with knowledge of Google Platform applications and PowerSchool an asset.
  • Flexible TEAM player.
