Job Description

  • A key role with strong senior leadership visibility offering the opportunity to influence real change and improve outcomes for staff across the University.
  • Full-time (1.0 FTE) appointment on a fixed term basis for 1 year.
  • Base salary range: $129497$137029 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

The ability of P&C professionals to partner effectively with senior leadership teams across the University is crucial to develop opportunities and provide practical and innovative solutions to achieve academic and business goals.

About the opportunity

  • Reporting directly to the Chief People & Culture Officer this role leads the delivery of internal audit actions and drives the implementation of fit-for-purpose controls across recruitment onboarding and employment. Youll work across Payroll Talent Acquisition People Operations and Business Partnering to ensure compliance is embedded into our day-to-day operations.
  • You will be responsible for implementing internal audit findings driving continuous improvement in recruitment and onboarding practices and ensuring that employment-related compliance is embedded into People & Culture operations.
  • With a deep understanding of end-to-end recruitment and payroll processes this role will enhance the universitys ability to deliver fair consistent and efficient employee lifecycle practices.
  • Working closely with Business Partnering Employee Relations Talent People Operations and Payroll teams the role plays a critical part in delivering UWAs People & Culture Strategy and supports remediation and compliance uplift projects including those under the Employee Entitlement Remediation Program (EERP).

About you

  • Lead implementation of internal audit recommendations related to recruitment onboarding and pre-employment compliance.
  • Ensure integrity and consistency of classification delegation approval and contract generation processes.
  • Collaborate with Payroll and People Operations to ensure recruitment and onboarding controls support downstream pay accuracy.
  • Support end-to-end recruitment process redesign including mapping automation and system integration.
  • Experience using PageUp ServiceNow and aPay (Ascender payroll) would be desirable.
