Job Description

Position Title: Palletizer Operator

Position Type: Regular - Full-Time

Position Location: Coaldale

Grade:Scale 06

About the role.

The successful candidate will be able to multitask running the labeller and palletizer and prioritize their equipment to keep packaging running. They must be a strong communicator between shipping and packaging be able to proficiently troubleshoot areas and communicate those issues to lead hand.

What youll be doing.

  • Safely operate the Palletizer and Wrapper

  • Use the Warehouse Management System and COLOs to accurately record production

  • Achieve a pace as to keep up to shipping and production

  • Communication with both Packaging and Shipping and working as part of a team

  • Proper documentation of product movements

  • Properly complete all required documentation

  • Maintain good housekeeping in the area

  • Performing required daily tests to ensure product quality consistency and determine equipment effectiveness. Then recording results into the designated McCain database to drive Real Time Management and support data analysis.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

What youll need to be successful.

  • Must have proven history of safe work habits and able to exercise good judgment in making decisions relative to the operation of a production line.

  • Familiar OCAP and basic computer skills.

  • High School Graduate

  • Mechanically inclined and able to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems.

  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control software (InfinityQS) SAP data entry and general production requirements is an asset.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills

  • Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS.

  • Must have strong communication skills ability to follow detailed instructions and be able to maintain good working relationships with Supervision and coworkers as well as ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work on a rotating shift basis.

  • Mathematical ability to perform basic calculations.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills..

  • Must be willing to work in a team based atmosphere.

  • Able to work in fluctuating temperature environment (extreme cold to warm)

  • Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS.

  • Must have or be willing to complete training on forklift Zamboni personal fall protection and scissor/boom lift.

Physical Requirements

  • Physically capable of performing all required duties including some heavy lifting (up to 50lbs).

Compensation Package:$29.62 $31.17 after six months CAD hourly

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience skill set education/training and other organizational needs.
