The Opportunity
We are looking for a Lifestyle officer to join our team at Sydney Admin. in our Sydney Region.
Duties will include (but not limited to): -
- Facilitate the leisure lifestyle program including group and individual activities for residents including people living with dementia
- Monitor and evaluate resident participation progress and interest level in recreation striving for continuous improvement
- Complete daily documentation for the leisure lifestyle program including group and individual activities
- Assist in the review of lifestyle assessments as part of the overall care plan
- Respect and assist residents to practice their cultural religious intellectual physical and social beliefs. Respect residents rights dignity and privacy at all times.
- Liaise with and maintain a good working relationship with the community other professionals and organisations in the provision of service
- Assist in developing the monthly recreation program and producing monthly facility newsletter
- Schedule plan and organise various lifestyle events on the yearly calendar
- Assist in facilitating resources required for activities that are added to the program
- Assist in completing any surveys or auditing tools as required
- Conduct 1:1 sessions with individual residents providing emotional and social support
- Assist in escorting residents to medical and other appointments ensuring their needs are met
- Assist with documentation and other requirements and duties ensuring the outcomes of the Aged Care Quality Standards are always met

What you bring
Required:
- Educational qualification of Cert III or IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or
- working towards it.
- Possess a range of practical and creative skills e.g. arts crafts or related activities
- Possesses high-level interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work as an effective team member.
- Ability to gather relevant information through effective questioning
- and active listening
- Ability to express information and ideas appropriately
- Ability to plan and organise own workload and to work under
- minimal supervision
- Proven organisational and time management skills
- Has report-writing experience
- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of computer software applications
Desirable:
- Current knowledge and/or understanding of the needs associated with consumers living with Dementia and related disorders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements related to Aged Care
- Experience working in the Aged Care Industry
Other Specific Requirements:
- Required certifications-First Aid and CPR
- Criminal history check & subsequent renewals
- Up to date vaccination as per the UPA vaccination policy.
