Job Summary

The Sustainable Sourcing Program Manager will partner closely with global and regional Directors and category managers to lead and execute the planning implementation and adoption of various strategic programs and initiatives to advance supplier sustainability and resiliency for Avient. They will interface with global and regional business leaders as well as the VP for Sustainability and become a true advisor and business partner while developing and driving Avients Sustainable Sourcing Program and vision.

This highly visible role will also focus on other strategic initiatives as we roll out the Sustainability Sourcing Program such as integration of supplier segmentation into the program.

Essential Functions

Develop a comprehensive strategy and deployment plan for Avients Sustainable Sourcing Program and manage all aspects of the program.
Spearhead Avient goals and functionality enhancements with our risk platform provider Resilinc
Embed user adoption of 3rd party risk platform across global sourcing manager population
Act as an advisor to the cross-functional leadership team on the suppliers sustainability agenda and ongoing transformation efforts.
The Manager will gather VOB and VOC from engagement with internal and external stakeholders to serve as SPOC for defining and shaping Avients sustainable sourcing strategy
Participate in ongoing sustainability reporting processes in close collaboration with the corporate communications team and other functions.
Coordinate the planning and execution of supplier sustainability improvement projects with category managers; monitor the progress against deadlines and milestones
Manage the all 3rd parties providing services to survey our supply base in the following categories (Environment- Ethics Labors & Human Rights & Sustainable procurement)
Represents Avients Procurement Sustainability team on multiple internal working groups and in external practice communities
Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in supplier diversity & sustainability environmental policy or a related field or Business Finance procurement or other business-related area.
At least 3 years of work experience in a business setting with a focus in procurement sustainability or related field.

Additional Qualifications

Ability to translate sustainability issues into goals and metrics and garner excitement and generate interest in the program amongst stakeholders.
Knowledgeable in strategic sourcing and vendor management
Previous work experience in developing and establishing supplier sustainability programs
Demonstrated experience organizing and leading a diverse group of internal contributors and stakeholders to achieve objectives.
