Job Description
HVAC Design Engineer
Boca Raton FL
Full-time / Direct hire
Seeking an experienced HVAC Design Engineer to support mechanical design services for residential and commercial projects including new construction renovations and additions. Under the guidance of a Project Manager you will be involved in all project phases-concept design calculations drafting documentation and construction administration.
Responsibilities:-
Develop HVAC conceptual designs based on client requirements

Prepare construction documents from concept through final design

Attend client meetings and maintain strong client relationships

Coordinate with Project Manager and other disciplines

Perform heat load energy and outside air calculations
-
Select HVAC equipment; size ducts and piping; calculate friction loss

Conduct site visits for pre-design assessment and post-design compliance
-
Review/respond to RFIs and submittals during construction phase

Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering
-
3 5 years of HVAC design experience in building systems
-
Proficiency with Carrier HAP and Florida Energy Gauge

Strong knowledge of mechanical energy and building codes

Skilled in AutoCAD and Revit
-
Ability to read/interpret drawings and technical schematics

Excellent communication organization and time management skills
-
Problem-solving mindset and self-motivated work ethic
