Job Description
Job Title: Senior Chaplain
Department: Ministry
Reports To: Director of Ministry and Partnership Outreach
FLSA Status: Regular Full Time Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:
Demonstrates Christ-like behavior and attitude in all job duties and responsibilities. The Senior Pastor provides spiritual leadership by preaching teaching discipling and cultivating a Christ-centered culture throughout the Mission. The role focuses on shaping and delivering a biblically grounded ministry experience for both guests and staff partnering with local churches and leading key aspects of spiritual formation and engagement under the direction of the Director of Ministry and Church Partner Outreach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Pastoral and Spiritual Leadership
- Preaches regularly at chapel services and special events in a manner consistent with Scripture and the Missions Statement of Faith.
- Develops and implements comprehensive discipleship plans for program guests and staff.
- Provides pastoral care and spiritual counsel to individuals across the Mission community.
- Participates in the administration of sacraments ceremonial services and Mission-wide spiritual activities.
- Leads Bible studies devotionals and co-curricular programs to support spiritual growth.
- Supports grieving staff or guests with pastoral care in times of loss or trauma.
- Maintains timely and professional communication (including email responses within 48 hours).
- Adheres to integrity guidelines and chaplaincy protocols established by the Director of Ministry.
Spiritual Programming and Data Management
- Collaborates with ministry staff to evaluate and enhance discipleship programming and guest spiritual development.
- Maintains accurate digital and physical records for discipleship teaching and chapel attendance.
- Attends all staff meetings devotions and assigned training seminars.
- Promotes life application of biblical truths by helping guests and staff identify and address barriers to spiritual growth.
Church Partnership and Ministry Development
- Partners with the Director of Ministry and Church Partner Outreach to initiate and nurture strategic relationships with churches and faith-based organizations.
- Helps create and coordinate opportunities for partner churches to serve at the Mission through chapel services volunteerism discipleship programs and events.
- Assesses and schedules church and guest ministry teams for chapel preaching and on-site ministry.
- Supports the development and oversight of internships and ministry practicums in collaboration with local colleges and universities.
- Models a lifestyle of integrity and humility consistent with the Missions core values and the expectations of pastoral leadership.
