General Summary of Position:
The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) at University of Massachusetts Lowell serves as a central catalyst for student advancement fostering academic excellence skills building and campus engagement and belonging. Through comprehensive holistic services OMA advances student success with a dynamic array of services and activities. The Program Assistant serves a key role in planning program execution caseload and data tracking and outreach.
Essential Job Duties:
- Data Management:
- Accurately track update and maintain student cohort information within university systems (e.g. SIS Salesforce internal tracking systems)
- Support departmental reporting engagement and retention efforts.
- Track curriculum completion levels for students in the various Rising 360 cohorts.
- Support departmental assessments survey analysis reporting and connecting data with program adjustments and efforts in tandem with staff.
- Support Departmental Events:
- Assist in planning and executing events including heritage month celebrations Rising 360 programming and large-scale department initiatives.
- Responsibilities may include submitting space and resource requests tracking supplies creating event diagrams scheduling activities across departmental and divisional calendars.
- Student Outreach & Communications:
- Support the departments communication and outreach initiatives such as:
- Communicating with individual students cohorts and student groups to share key updates
- Connecting students to relevant campus resources like success coaches and provide details about upcoming deadlines and events
- Social Media and Marketing:
- Assist with implementing the departments marketing calendar by creating and scheduling engaging social media content aligned with programming and student interests
- Assist with departmental visibility campus awareness efforts which may include some creative content development and establishing timely outreach
- Work across partners on-campus to expand awareness of services timely updates and a presence across the departments physical student spaces
- May include some web content updating
- Office Support:
- Oversee daily office operations such as monitoring shared email accounts responding to routine inquiries organizing digital files and collaborating with staff and student workers to ensure smooth workflow
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Education: High School diploma or GED required
Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years relevant experience
- Demonstrated success in data management tracking monitoring etc.
- Experience with developing and executing outreach and communication strategies
Skills:
- Ability to multi-task and provide excellent project management oversight
- Strong organizational skills required ability to learn various software systems strong service orientation
Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree preferred
- Experience in higher education or education setting or a fast-paced environment
- Ability to learn and navigate software system successfully such as SIS Salesforce or other platforms
