Quality Inspector & Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Operator

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experiencedQuality Inspector & CMM Operatorto support manufacturing operations by conducting First Article in-process and final inspections. This role is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Zeiss G2 CMM machine. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented quality-focused and capable of making informed acceptance or rejection decisions based on engineering specifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform First Article in-process and final inspections using standard measuring equipment.
- Document inspection results accurately and control the identification and location of nonconforming products.
- Log time and job details using JobBoss software.
- Prioritize inspection workload to support production schedules and minimize delays.
- Collaborate with production personnel to resolve quality issues in real time.
- Operate and maintain the Zeiss G2 CMM machine and interpret GD&T and Catia annotations.
Essential Functions & Technical Skills:
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with Calypso software (preferred).
- Understanding of Catia-annotation systems.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to perform layout inspections using SME tools.
- Experience working within an AS9100 quality management system.
- Exposure to an effective calibration system.
- Hands-on experience in CMM operations and/or certification.
CMM-Specific Duties:
- Ensure precision machinery is maintained and calibrated.
- Determine programming requirements based on design specifications.
- Operate and maintain precision measurement equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Minimum of 2 years of inspection and blueprint reading experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of CMM operation and/or programming experience.
- CMM operation/programming certification (required).
- Post-secondary education may substitute for experience.
- NDT Level I II or III (preferred but not required).
- Weld Inspector certification (preferred but not required).
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Ability to stand and move throughout the facility while performing inspections.
