Job Description
As a Data Engineer you will design and maintain seamless data integrations ensure quality and consistency across systems and collaborate with global teams to support data-driven decision-making in the international education space.
Job Overview
Employment type: Indefinite term type contract
Shift: Monday to Friday 08:00 a.m. 05:00 p.m. (COL time)
Work setup: Hybrid Bogot and Medellin
Your Daily Tasks
- Design develop and maintain data system integrations and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) operations
- Ensure enforcement of data integrity and data quality standards
- Collaborate with stakeholder teams across business functions (e.g. Operations Finance Enrollment) to draft clear and complete business requirements
- Test and support data solutions
- Implement and monitor effective process controls to proactively address issues
- Troubleshoot data management issues and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Author and update technical documentation
Requirements
The Qualifications We Seek
- Basic experience in information systems development and maintenance specifically with relational databases (e.g. Oracle Database Microsoft SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL) and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) tools (e.g. Jitterbit Harmony Oracle Warehouse Builder Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services CloverETL Informatica Azure Data Factory)
- 3 years of experience writing queries and procedures in Microsoft SQL Server
- Basic experience using RPA-driven tools
- Basic experience working with Salesforce Dynamics CRM or other cloud-based information systems
- Basic experience using Ellucian Banner Student (or similar SIS) and academic systems such as Blackboard or Slate
- 3 years of experience in software development (custom software solutions web-based front ends etc.)
- Basic experience in IT project management including requirements assessment scoping resource planning timeline development and technical documentation
- Basic familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g. Atlassian Jira Confluence)
- Proven ability to multitask and work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Willingness to coordinate occasional meetings with global team members outside traditional time zone hours
