Job Description

Oversees all aspects of hotel restaurant and spa operations ensuring smooth daily functioning profitability and exceptional guest are responsible for managing staff maintaining budgets implementing business strategies and fostering a positive work environment. Essentially they are the leaders who set the direction for the hotel property and ensure all departments work towards the same goals. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management:

    Developing and managing the hotels budget forecasting revenue and expenses analyzing financial performance and implementing cost-saving measures. 

  • Staff Management:

    Recruiting hiring training and supervising staff fostering a positive work environment and ensuring high levels of customer service. 

  • Guest Relations:

    Ensuring guest satisfaction handling complaints and implementing strategies to enhance the guest experience. 

  • Strategic Planning:

    Developing and implementing strategies to increase revenue market share and profitability including sales and marketing initiatives. 

  • Compliance:

    Ensuring the hotel adheres to all relevant laws regulations and policies. 

  • Maintaining Standards:

    Upholding the hotels brand image service standards and overall quality. 

  • Overall Operations Management:

    Overseeing all hotel departments (front desk housekeeping food & beverage maintenance etc.) to ensure efficient and seamless service delivery. 

Essential Skills:

  • Leadership: Motivating and inspiring staff fostering a positive work culture and leading by example. 
  • Communication: Effectively communicating with staff guests and other stakeholders. 
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding financial statements budgeting forecasting and revenue management. 
  • Problem-Solving: Identifying and resolving issues efficiently and effectively. 
  • Customer Service: Prioritizing guest satisfaction and creating a positive experience. 
  • Adaptability: Thriving in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing circumstances. 

    In essence the hotel innkeeper & general manager is the driving force behind the hotels success responsible for both the operational and financial aspects of the business while ensuring a positive and memorable experience for every guest. 


    Qualifications :

    - Bachelors degree

    - 5 years of hotel management experience

    - love of Maine
