Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented Cost Accountant with a passion for manufacturing cost accounting and ERP systems Do you have hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and a strong grasp of GAAP principles If so we want you on our team!
About the Role:
As a Cost Accountant you will be responsible for implementing and managing the inventory costing system in our new Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations ERP system. Youll work closely with production teams to ensure accurate costing analyze financial data and drive cost efficiencies. This is a high-impact role that requires strong analytical skills manufacturing cost expertise and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
What Youll Do:
- Actively participate in the inventory costing implementation for our ERP system.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of standard costs for inventory items including bulk intermediate and finished goods.
- Perform month-end close activities related to cost accounting and inventory valuation.
- Analyze production costs variances and financial data to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure proper routes and resource identification.
- Review and validate raw materials BOMs and cost rolls.
- Assist in the management of the excess and obsolete inventory review process.
- Support financial audits and ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Improve processes and controls related to manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance (CPA preferred).
- 5 years of cost accounting experience preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong ERP experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
- Expertise in manufacturing cost accounting batch processing and inventory valuation.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with costing/production software.
- Excellent analytical communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
